The Ukrainians: Nadiia Kushnir

At the age of 25, Nadiia Kushnir had already illustrated more than fifty books. However, true fame came to her only after she created and drew the Goose—a unique, unconventional, and sometimes quite controversial character that has since made its way across the internet, appearing on the pages of thousands of Ukrainians.

We spoke with illustrator Nadiia Kushnir about how the Goose came into her life, why a degree isn’t everything, and how to coexist with an inner workaholic.
