In January 2024, Silpo in Victoria Gardens Mall became the unlikely venue for a groundbreaking art exhibit titled Khrobart, created by Ukrainian artist Nadiia Kushnir. This innovative display took art out of the traditional gallery setting and placed it right next to everyday essentials like groceries and household products, inviting visitors to reimagine their relationship with the objects they often overlook.

Kushnir's central concept for Khrobart was to challenge the conventional boundaries between art and daily life. By showcasing art in such an unconventional location, the exhibit aimed to highlight how beauty often goes unnoticed in the mundane, overlooked world of shopping aisles and everyday routines. The artist's pieces were seamlessly integrated into the environment of the mall, subtly encouraging people to pause, reflect, and recognize the hidden artistic potential in their surroundings.

For many visitors, the juxtaposition of fine art with supermarket goods offered a fresh perspective on both. Kushnir’s work evoked a sense of wonder and appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us—if only we take the time to notice it.

Through Khrobart, Nadiia Kushnir successfully blurred the lines between art and life, reminding us that beauty and creativity are not confined to galleries, but are often right in front of us, in the most unexpected places.
